Hi,

after the installation of the firefox 3.0.2 update, we are not able to edit our signatures anymore. The HTML-edit-box is read only.

Any idea about the problem?
We are using the latest version.

Thanks!

I have upgraded my Firefox to v3.0.2 and am having no problem editing my signature(s). I'm on XP pro. Not sure why you would be having trouble. The only thing I can suggest is disabling all add-ons, then re-enabling them one by one starting with the Gmail Sigs to see what is causing a problem.

I am having the same problem ... Upgraded to Firefox 3.0.2 and disabled ALL add-ons and extras.  The signature I had in there before the upgrade is stil intact, but I cannot edit it.

Thanks.

I have the same problem - in Firefox 3.0 and in Flock 2.0b3.  I'm using Vista Home Edition.  I have tried the Disable Add-ons and re-Enable the Add-ons, beginning with the BetterGmail2.  Like 'Scott above' said,  this did nothing to correct the problem.  I have 'working HTML sigs' of any account where one was existing, but have not access to them now - nor the ability to create any new HTML sigs.

Something happened with the recent updates that have rendered this tools inoperative.

Please fix.  This tool is much needed!!

My latest version of BCGS works fine with Firefox 3.0.3. Are you sure you've disabled all add-ons that are incompatible with BCGS?

My version 1.11.07 is working just fine with Firefox 3.0.3 as well.

This problem drove me nuts! On a 10.4.11 OSX box, running FF 3.0.2 / 3.0.3 - the edit box still appeared to be read-only.

It does however become writable when using the tab index. So by tabbing all the way round the compose screen (having selected 'create signature', it is possible to bring focus to the edit box, and simply paste your html code. The entry then becomes difficult to edit, as the cursor is 'locked' onto a single line - so it's best to edit your signature in Textmate (Notepad) and paste from there.

Wow, that sounds like a royal pain. I'm sorry to hear that you're having that trouble, but I'm not really sure what I could do to fix it until I'm able to reproduce the bug myself. Thanks for the tip about tabbing!

Edit box no longer works for me too.  This on the Mac and also under Windows XP and Vista.  It does not work under any circumstances on any computer I use.

Same problem here.  Some of images appeared broken today (they are hosted on several different server locations).  Went to edit HTML only to find that I couldn't.  The signature was working yesterday.  Not sure what has changed. Is there anything I can provide to help troubleshoot?  I'm runing Vista.  I also tried reverting to FF 3.0.1  Same issues.

Same problem here... (XP Pro, FF 3.0.3)

Dear coder of this wonderful addon, what about this: Could you make a possibility of changing the signature outside of gMail? Maybe in the Preferences of the AddOn; or at least in some text-file in the AddOn's folder?

Or: Can youtell us, where the signatures are saved now so that we can change them manually?

Thank you...

Try this simple workaround to get the focus on the Signature HMTL code text pane:

1- Click in the gmail text field near the [Search Mail] button (top left).

2- Press Tab until you reach the Signature HTML code text pane.

It should be editable...This is working on Mac OSX, I hope it's the case on other platforms.

Edit your html signature outside gmail, then past it into the text pane.
